The Rock was recently interviewed, and stated that he needs the police on hand at times when he is shooting a film due to occasional incidents with stalker fans. The following is what he said.

“I go through cycles – it comes about every eight to ten months where I have a stalker fan that starts to require the local police to get involved, and it’s interesting because they’re generally women who eventually just want some attention.”

Some people try to setup altercations on purpose with famous celebrities, or wrestlers in this case, to simply gain attention from the media. This is simply another example.
