The Great Khali in Elimination Chamber

The Royal Rumble marked the return of The Great Khali to the active roster, and, due to Mark Henry’s injury, Khali has taken the sixth spot in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match, but is this really such a good idea?
In an ideal world, WWE would not have changed the Rumble match winner at the last minute to Sheamus, just to shut up internet ‘marks’ – something they have been known to do in the past. Ideally, Chris Jericho would have won the Chamber match, like he was supposed to, and Sheamus could have replaced the injured Henry in the Elimination Chamber.
However, as WWE have dictated, Henry has been replaced by Khali. Now Khali’s in ring work is atrocious, and his microphone work is even worse, and he has no business being in a wrestling ring, let alone in main event matches.
The good news is that, in an Elimination Chamber match, Khali will not have to do much, and the mach can be carried by the other five superstars in the match.
Also, with TNA now having set up a product for the Indian market, WWE may feel the need to push Khali more. The numbers show that viewing figures in India were up when Khali was in main events. It was the first time the Indian audiences truly had someone to cheer for.
However, WWE are likely making a big mistake. They also have Jinder Mahal on the roster – and he is significantly more talented in the ring and on the microphone. It is true that he may not be ready for the main event, but the same can be said for past Elimination Chamber participants. As said before, the other five competitors could carry the match for him.
Regardless, the fact is that Khali is in the match, for better or worse. We just have to hope and pray that this is a one time thing, and Khali is not pushed back into the main event scene.
