Chris Jericho Returns to WWE 2012

January 3, 2012

Fans had been anticipating the return of Chris Jericho for weeks now, and last night on Monday Night Raw, he finally made his awaited return. He did not talk on the microphone, but instead celebrated with the fans, and exited soon after.

For weeks now, fans have been expecting Y2J to return to WWE as the man behind the cryptic "January 2, 2012" promos that the company had been airing weekly on Raw.

Jericho openly denied these claims stating that he has no intentions of ever returning to WWE again. Many are aware that Chris really enjoys messing with the online wrestling community, and this was another example.

Word leaked from WWE backstage that management wants to setup a feud between Chris Jericho and CM Punk for the WWE Championship at the upcoming WrestleMania 28 event.

However, the former Undisputed WWE Champion needs something to do before that program can begin. Jericho could have a very entertaining feud with Alberto Del Rio.

Jericho is obviously very comfortable on the microphone, and so is Del Rio. The two could exchange some very crude verbal insults, and it would make a very entertaining program to say the least. This could also help elevate Del Rio higher because WWE has been unable to make Alberto look credible. He has simply been forced into the main event without acceptance.

Chris Jericho's return was predictable, but still very welcomed by fans (including myself). The Raw roster lacks depth, and star power right now, so Jericho will be an excellent addition to the main event once more. Hopefully he can also help increase Raw TV ratings as well; something that has been a concern as of late.
